Frequently Asked Questions

Are you open on holidays?

While the kennel operates every day of the year, we are closed for check ins/outs and tours on Christmas day and New Years day. Don’t worry. Your fur-family will receive the same great care, whether it be play time or schedule grooming during their stay. We reserve the right to charge a premium during holidays.

What is the best way to contact you?

While we do have a telephone, it is best to email or contact us via Facebook Messenger if you have any general questions. We try to respond to all emails within one hour of receiving them. You can also click here for our online reservation system.

Can I take a tour?

Certainly, but any visitors are very disruptive to routine, so we ask that you call to book at time. We schedule our tours during the afternoons between play time.

Do I have to make a reservation?

While there are days that we may have openings, we cannot guarantee you a spot unless you use our online reservation system, speak to us directly, or receive a confirmation to your email request.

Does my dog have to be spayed or neutered?

No, but a dog that is not spayed or neutered can be aggressive or have a disruptive effect on other dogs. While we can accommodate you, we need to know ahead of time, to reduce the risk of any issue arising from an encounter.

Does my dog have to be vaccinated?

We require current proof of vaccinations for Rabies and DHPP. Please have your veterinarian email your vaccination records to info@dogboardingkennels.ca to save time so we don’t have to call to confirm if you don’t bring the records with you when you drop off your dog. Please understand that we reserve the right to refuse any dog that cannot supply these records.

Do you offer cage-free boarding?

We believe that every animal should be treated with the utmost respect. That’s why all of our rooms are cage free and offer an indoor/outdoor experience for your dog.

Do you exercise my dog?

It is our belief that a well-exercised dog includes time in our off-leash run area. We recognize that you may not want your dog integrated at play time so we offer a privacy option.

How do you ensure my dog's safety?

Because your dog is in its own suite, it will only have controlled contact with other dogs. That said, we take particular care during walks and off-leash time to ensure that your animals are safe. This is why it is so important for you to fully honest when describing the social skills of your dogs. This allows us to match dogs with the suitable temperament.

I have two dogs, can they stay together?

Absolutely. All of our suites can comfortably house multiple dogs so your whole pack will have great stay.

What's your cancellation and deposit policy?

Of course we understand when plans change, but there are many days that we have a waiting list so if you have to cancel then we have to compensate. For all new guests and during peak seasons, we will be taking a non-refundable deposit of $35 dollars to secure your room.

What method of payments do you require?

We currently take, cash, Debit, Visa, Mastercard, and e-transfer. Sorry, we cannot accept cheques at this time. No dog can leave the facility without first being paid for.

What are your hours?

Our open times for check-ins and checkouts are:

Monday to Sunday

8:00 to 10:00 a.m.
4:00 to 6:00 p.m.

For $15, we do offer a non-standard check-in/out. This requires previous authorization for an agreed upon time. Please don’t expect us to wait in the lobby when we should be playing in the yard with your dogs.

Should I bring my dog's toys and bed?

While we do have an array of toys and sufficient beds for all the suites, we encourage you to bring anything you think will make your dog more comfortable during their stay.

Do you supply dog food?

Yes. We do offer Lifetime grain free dog and cat food, which is the same as what we sell through the store. That said, it is important that your dog continue to have a consistent diet while they stay. This will prevent your dog from becoming agitated or ill.

Do you give medications?

What if my dog isn’t social?

That’s okay. We won’t penalize a dog who isn’t social. We offer a privacy option that will exercise or walk your dog just the same as our other guests. This service only costs $15 per day to cover the costs of labour.
